Welcome to the official website of the lake cumberland powerboat club and the lake cumberland thunder run. The thunder run is a poker run organized and produced by the lake cumberland powerboat club and hosted out of state dock marina that takes place on beautiful lake cumberland ky. LAKE CUMBERLAND POKER RUN: Cancelled Due to the recent spike in Coronavirus cases, the State of Kentucky has rolled back gatherings to less than 10 people and requires facemasks in public areas. After several planning sessions and feedback from the State of Kentucky regarding groups of 10 or more, we have made the difficult decision to cancel. Poker Run 2019 on Lake Cumberland starts Friday, September 6, 2019, Grider Hill Dock and Marina at Rowena will be poker stops. « All Events This event has passed. This year’s Thunder Run on Lake Cumberland will be hosted by State Dock. Based on recent feedback from our local health department, we are not going to be able to host this year’s Thunder Run, during the original dates. If the state and health department approves, we will be postponing the event to July 17-19, 2020.

Lake Cumberland Poker Run 2019 Dates 2020

• Registration begins on Thursday, September 5th.
• This is a two-day event starting on Friday at Noon and ending at 7pm on Saturday.
• There is no driver’s meeting on Saturday morning.
• There is no shotgun start on Saturday morning.
• Visit any 5 of the 9 marinas on the lake to make up your hand.
• There is no particular order to visit each marina.
• All Playing cards must be turned in by Saturday, 7:00 pm.
• Don’t forget to visit the legendary Harmon Creek to see the most amazing boats in the business!
• HAVE FUN – BE SAFE!

• Straight Flush – All five cards of the same suit and in sequence, as the 6,7,8,9 and 10 of diamonds. Highest ranking straight flush is the 10, J, Q, K and Ace of one suit called a Royal Flush.
• 4 of a Kind – Such as four aces or four sixes, it does not matter what the fifth, unmatched card is.
• Full House – Three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank, such as 8,8,8,4,4.
• Flush – 5 cards of the same suit, but not all in the same sequence.
• Straight – Five cards in sequence, but not all of the same suit.
• 3 of a Kind – Three cards of the same rank such as 8, 8, 8, K, 3.
• 2 Pair – A hand with 2 pairs & the 2 pairs are of different ranks.
• Pair – A hand with two cards of equal rank
• High Card – Five cards which do not form any of the combinations listed above. Highest card wins.

Note: If five of a kind such as 5 queens does occur, it will beat all of the above combinations. Also, all ties will be handled by a team choice of either splitting the prize or higher cut of the deck.
